Our ambassador, Greg Norman

Greg Norman’s relationship with Qantas goes back a long way. The legendary Australian golfer has been a Qantas Ambassador since 1978. So when Qantas Golf Club was being established, it was a natural fit for Greg to be involved from the start.

Known for being one of the sport's best-ever drivers, Greg Norman won 91 professional events in the 1980s and 1990s, including 20 US PGA Tour titles. Dubbed ‘Great White Shark’ by a reporter at the time, Greg was twice crowned British Open Champion and held No.1 World ranking for 331 weeks. He has been inducted into both the Australian Sport Hall of Fame (with ‘Legend’ status) and the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Still a strong, active player and global advocate for the game, Greg is fully supportive of our new golf community, “Any initiative that gives people more opportunity to play golf is a winner in my book.  Qantas Frequent Flyer members can play a variety of courses with Qantas Golf Club, which helps improve your game. It’s a great boost for golf.”

Greg Norman is now also a successful business entrepreneur, spending much of his time as Chairman and CEO of Great White Enterprises.

We are delighted that Qantas Golf Club Premium members are able to play at a number of courses designed by Greg Norman, including courses at Sanctuary Lakes (VIC), Brookwater (QLD), Settlers Run (VIC), and The Vintage (NSW).

We recently caught up with Greg at his private club, The Medallist Golf Club, in Hobe Sound, Florida.
Here’s what he had to say
